Munch Madness

Rahways 3rd Annual Munch Madness Festival this year it is including the first Steak Cooking Associations event in the Northeast with the winner qualifying for the SCA World Championships in Fort Worth, Texas along with a qualifier for the World Food Championships. Come down to support the Bearded One as he tries to defend his Grand Championship at this event last year.  

Munch Madness: Rahway's food truck festival, barbecue competition, and basketball extravaganza is back for its 3rd year on Saturday, April 1 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Inside the Rahway Recreation Center (3 City Hall Plaza), the Rahway Police Athletic League will host back to back all-star games for the 5th/6th grade division followed by the 7th/8th grade division. At 12:00pm, the Court Jesters performing basketball team will take the court against the Munch Madness all-stars, a team comprised of Rahway PAL coaches and teachers. Admission is free.

At 2:00pm, the party extends outside into the City Hall parking lot where the Steak Cookoff Association sanctioned BBQ competition will be underway. Come cheer on east coast grill masters as they compete in chicken, steak, and pork for a $2,000 prize pool.

City Hall parking lot will also transform into a Food Truck Festival. A dozen trucks will be vending throughout the day including Tacoholics, Empanada Guy, and many more.

Bring the family! During the event there will be various basketball contests, free twirling and cheering clinics for ages 7-10 at 2:30pm, live line dancing lessons with World Renown Hazel and Tybalt Ulrich, bounce houses, and Marty Eigen's Beacon Hill Musicians performing live followed by the awards for Rahway's first ever sanctioned BBQ contest.

After this cold winter come out and have some spring fun! In the event of inclement weather; Munch Madness will be moved inside the Rahway Recreation Center. Limited parking onsite, additional parking available at the Rahway Parking Garage, 67 Lewis Street.
